I uploaded a flame (params included!) with the same basic structure but a very different look to scraps: Just goes to show how big a difference "presentation" can make. What are the differences between that and this?
Changed weight of one transform from .5 to 1. Added fxform. Different gradient, background color, and color tab stuff. Different aspect and crop. Imaging tweaks in Chaotica.
That's not actually that much, or at least it's surface stuff compared to fundamentally altering the variations and transform positions and xaos. I feel like a lot of apo artists focus too much on memorizing structures (splits-elliptic, grand julian, cross bloom, et cetera) but then they stop halfway by not putting much thought into presentation. Inevitably when someone asks "How did you do that?" they mean "What variations did you use? How did you arrange the transforms?" and while that's obviously a very important part of apo, so much more than just that goes into the artistic style and mood of a piece.
