For what it's worth, the texture was achieved in UF, not post-processing.
Night on the Town by `FarDareisMai really showcases Jess's skill. The whole fractal look like a melody, you could easily imagine a old blues-man reading this as his guitar score in the darkness of a famous Chicago blues club... (

This makes me picture a night listening to old-school jazz in Louisiana at a lively party. So much is portrayed in one picture and a few words. Even without knowledge of the beginning to the complexities of fractal art, I can sense that this is a job well done. Wonderful job.
This is stunning. This is a work of art. I'd love to get a huge monitor and hang it on my wall portrait format - just showing this. I wonder what it would look like printed, would lose a lot of the contrast I guess... Reminds me of old posters - from the thirties (I think), and abstract art from early 20thC (sorry I should know names but cannot remember). Reminiscent of this too - 'I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold' (1928 Charles Demuth) [link] but very different too (more like the earlier more anarchic abstract art - mostly Russian &/or European I *think*). I know nothing about fractals, or the programmes used to create this stuff, so I dont really have any concept of how you made this. I presume the final UF image is bitmap?
