Rose of Egrets

First fractal I've actually made (pulling old work out of stash doesn't count) in over a month!

As you may have noticed, I've not yet done one of `lindelokse's "cross blooms." This is mostly because when I am tackling such a popular style, I want to be able to put my own spin on it. Not to turn this into a rant about copycats and bandwagons, but I think most of us can agree that few people have even come close to `lindelokse's original blooms.

So anyway, "my own spin" ended up being to stylize the bloom to the point it looks more like an ink painting than an actual flower. This is doubly experimental for me because as you may have noticed, minimalism isn't usually my gig! It was a lot of work too; I spent a lot of time editing the gradient node-by-node in UF and at one point I was editing the text params for some dirty chaotica hax (though that didn't actually make it into the final image).

Here you can see two intermediary stages of the image so you can get an idea of how much I pared it down to produce the final product.

Much credit is due `lindelokse for inventing a kind of fractal that I think is more flexible than most people give it a chance to be!
