Well, I didn't fold a thousand as the title would suggest, but the word was too cool to pass up.

with edited colors. Part of the reason I've been making so many highly textural fractals recently is because I knew they would look best on origami, and I've been wanting to make fractal-paper origami ever since the FatOW contest was announced.
So, here we have: the cranes and stars set up on my floor, closeups of each crane, crops of the fractals used to make them, and a picture of just stars on the floor. Fun fact: the dimensions of the squares used to fold the cranes are based on the golden ratio.
