Important Note: If this wins the abstract colors contest, then I would like the subscription to go to the second place winner. I don't need it; I'm just entering for fun. :)

This has actually been in the works quite a long time. It is based on a fractal I made... oh, probably sometime in Fall semester 2008. It didn't look "finished" as a fractal so I wondered if I could maybe appropriate the forms and colors I liked into a digital painting. I actually started working on it over winter break, and got about halfway through when a computer accident erased almost all the work I had done. And really, who wants to redo everything they just did? So, after feeling in the mood for some digital painting, I decided to make a second attempt. No computer accidents this time, heh.

I beleive the vision of the work makes you think about how it all connects- between textures and feeling of slow motion there are voids (dark areas) of intrigue. With the appearance of motion I am not sure if the shapes are moving or going to move - leaves me wondering.

There is a textural feel to the work- rough and bumpy rock shapes polished by moon dust. There is a hint of a horizon in the background which brings just the right amount of warmth to the work. The horizon also glows lowly on the rocks to help form the outlines. It has that cold space feel, yet a glimmer of warmth in the work.

Orginality and vision is always a aspect of your works- especially in this this work; which really intrigued me. They are excellent - I like this one alot!

Your technique and returning to a work to re-work it allowed you to probably reach for the best technique as shown. It took a bit of time to create this work and it shows.

Overall Impact - I warrant's another and closer look without having done this - I would not of seen all the detail nor would I have been as interested in what I discovered about the work.

It's shapes caught my eye so it impacted me. I hope others will look deeper and enjoy it as much as I did.
